Communications Consultation
The first place to start with any conversation about web or graphic design solutions is communication. You do important work in the world. You want other people to know about it and to join with you in your efforts. This is the purpose of design: to facilitate the communication and amplification of your message. Before we get into the nuts and bolts of a design process, I start with a conversation (or several) to help us all get a sense of what it is that we’re trying to do together: what’s the message? who are you trying to communicate with? what are appropriate technologies to help amplify that message? what aesthetic adequately communicates the nature of your work? who will maintain the technology and keep it up to date?
Web Design
I design custom websites from the bottom up. Using a process that involves a fair amount of back and forth, I will work with you to make a site that reflects the important work that you do and is tailored to your particular needs. I prefer a simple, straightforward, and intuitive style that emphasizes accessibility and functionality. My goal is to empower you to amplify the message you are already communicating using powerful and effective web-based technologies.
Graphic Design
While web design is a low cost way to reach a wide audience, it will not soon replace the importance of face-to-face or printed media and for communicating a message. Whether it’s a fresh identity design, complete overhaul, or using existing standards to create a new flier, letterhead, or business card, I will work hard to design graphics that reflect the unique character of your important work and mission.
